R.L. “Dick” Billings, CPC, CEBS, ERPA


Dick provides leadership to position the company at the forefront of the retirement plan industry. He also develops a strategic plan to advance Billings and Company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth. Dick oversees company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Finally, it is his primary daily job to find and maintain strategic alliances with investment vendors, investment advisors, and other centers-of-influence to more effectively sell and service retirement plans to our respective clients and their employees.

Education: Associate’s degree in business administration, American Institute of Business, Des Moines, IA. Dick has since attained and maintained the following industry certifications: Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) – awarded by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries; Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) – awarded by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) – awarded by the Internal Revenue Service.

Background: Dick has been married to his wife for over 30 years, and they have three grown children and five grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, reading and long-distance bicycle riding. Dick has ridden RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) each July since 2003. He is also an ordained Permanent Deacon of the Holy Roman Catholic Diocese of Sioux City and is the Chairman/Trustee of the diocese’s Priest’s Pension Plan and Welfare Board.
