New Beginnings

As we officially launch BillingsBlog, we here at Billings and Company would like to welcome you to our new website. There are many new and exciting things happening with our company, and we are excited to share the news with you.

First of all, our new website has been nearly six months in the making, as we examined how we could improve our web presence. We worked with Bass Advertising, an advertising and marketing firm based in Sioux City, Iowa. With their expertise, we have built this new website, along with changing our company’s name and logo. The name change reflects the fact that, more than 25 years since our company’s inception, it continues to grow and expand. R.L. “Dick” Billings, Billings and Company’s founder and president, has seen his firm grow from three employees to now 14, which include his three grown children.

We have welcomed several new employees over the past few months. Feel free to learn more about them on the About Us page.

The company has also added a new location, as our presence continues to expand in Minnesota, the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes. You can visit our satellite office in Mankato and meet Travis Stenberg, one of many of our new employees. He came to us after Billings and Company acquired his former company’s, Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP, retirement plan division. We are pleased to have him on our staff.

The company is also expanding its social media presence. If you are not a Facebook fan, a Twitter follower, a YouTube subscriber or LinkedIn connection, you can find links to our pages at the bottom of this website. With these new tools at our disposal, we are hoping that we can better inform not only our current clients and partners but also potential ones. In today’s shaky economy, it is more important than ever to start planning for your future. Why not start now with our help? If you’d like to take that step, visit our Contact Us page.

It is our aim to use BillingsBlog on a regular basis to provide you with commentary on current events regarding our industry. For example, midway through 2012, new disclosure rules will be put into effect. This topic will be one of many that we will discuss here in this forum. In addition to our blog, we will be posting links to important and evolving news about our industry on our Industry News page.

As the holidays wind down, we hope that you and yours stayed safe and warm. Here’s to a Happy 2012 and to a bright and prosperous future!
